I have 8 of the Model M's left, managed to break 2 so far in the past
18 years. One during my divorce, and one during the .com bust, and I
do mean I broke them Smile
I even use to take one into work with me, when I worked, I cant stand
that crappy cheap things, I kept wearing them out to quick caz I type
to fast.

Cheers

I have several of these. This is a great keyboard, but way to loud for me
to use on a daily basis. Plus, I have gotten so used to these new
keyboards with the laptop style keys, that using a big keyboard is very
difficult. However I do hook these up to my 5250 terminals and PS/2s when
I feel I need to take a trip back. :)

There is a much quieter version: P/N 71G4644. Made by Lexmark for IBM,
the DOB printed on mine is 13-FEB-95. Consider yourself warned if you
get one--it doesn't "feel" like a real clicky Model M, although it
isn't bad (as compared to these el-cheapo keyboards that sneak into
the box every time I buy a computer).

Time for the space saver model. I wonder if a silent version of it
exists?

I cannot imagine what you must have done to pull this off. There's a
steel sheet in there!

I still have boxes of them from the public school system. They served
from ~1990-2002 or so. While they have needed a good cleaning, only
two or three have suffered electronic failure.
