External power supply ala Peter Wendt. ->8x32MB RAM, 256 MB ->Video: ATi Mach 32 2MB ->Sound: ChipChat FM 32-bit Soundcard with "Wavetable" ->SCSI Controller 1: IBM SCSI-2 F/W 68pin ->SCSI Controller 2: Adaptec AHA-1640.->Ethernet: 3Com ->DVD Laufwerk: läuft auf Controller 2 This computer ROCKS. You will never find a better one. The tape drive runs sporadically, but everything else is perfect. I built this computer over a period of about 6 years and some of the parts are modified. The cable work is flawless, I built them myself. The DVD drive will play music cds to your speakers. Runs NT4. A real shame to have to sell this baby. But the link is missing, and I can't find it on ebay (yet?). Maybe I'm just too fast, and curious what the starting bid will be.. probably too much (for me). Using it with a PODP200MMX - running at 180MHz with the original 60MHz oscillator however after I found that *this* particular platform gets a tad instable with the 66MHz. Al got the better one, which I'd tested for quite some time. It has the 66MHz rated cache chips and cache controller IIRC. That on mine are rated 60MHz, which might work with the 10% overclocking - or not. All other modifications and some background are in the "Blue Book" pages, so you should better start reading from the start page: http://www.mcamafia.de/bluebook/bluebook.htm For a POPD you need to rewire the socket a bit. It needs +5V for the integrated fan on two pins. Then - if you plan to use a Non-MMX Pentium - you need to wire the BF0 / BF1 pins for selecting the bus / core ratio. How are you doing? I hope very well. Yes it is a shame that I have to part from this machine. I had a great time building it and using it and I learned a lot about computers. But it just goes to show you how much your life can change. Right now the only computer I use is the one at work. All of my microchannel machines are collecting dust. My life has changed dramatically since we had that Treffen in Frankfurt way back when. That was fun. I am pretty much selling almost everything I own and I am moving to a new city closer to you and will be starting a new job in October. Until then I have to get rid of most of my stuff and lighten up my load. Unfortunately that means parting with many of my belongings. The past years I have not had time to work with any of my computers at home and I only use the one at work. I keep all of my personal files on a 2GB USB stick. Pretty pathetic, eh? OH well, they say. Pretty much the same here. I'm finding BOXES full of memory, MCA cards, cables, drives, etc besides the machines I no longer use including a 9595-OPT that I really should post and get rid of. The bad hard drives's platters are destined for an electrolysis project though. Some wil go to scrap, some sold, some offered free for shipping costs and others tossed.
